Wat Saensukharam, Luang Prabang

Wat Saen Sukharam, Luang Prabang
🌿🙏🦚 Built by Ta Chao Rang during the reign of King Kisarat, the name of Wat Saen comes from the amount of 100,000 kip donated as the initial capital for construction. It is decorated with gold leaf patterns by Luang Prabang craftsmen.

🍀🙏🌱 The sim is in the Vientiane style, which is tall, but the roof is layered like the sim of Luang Prabang and has an additional roof in the middle like the sim of Xieng Kwang. The octagonal pillars and lotus petal-shaped pillar tops are decorated with gold patterns on a red background and a large standing Buddha statue, the only one in Luang Prabang.
