Wat Xieng Thong, the sacred temple of Luang Prabang

We had the opportunity to visit Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most beautiful and sacred temples in Luang Prabang. It is located on the banks of the Mekong River. It is a temple that many people say is “a must-see” and we immediately understand why.

Just walking in, we felt like we were surrounded by peace. The chapel has delicate patterns. The gold and red background contrast beautifully like a painting. Inside the chapel, there is a principal Buddha image for worship. The atmosphere is very peaceful, like time has stopped for a moment.

What impressed us was the back wall of the chapel with a pattern of golden trees, which is a beautiful and graceful glass decoration. It is a true Luang Prabang art.

If anyone goes to Luang Prabang, we really recommend that you stop here. Not only to worship, but also to absorb the beauty of the temple that is like the heart of this city.
