200-Year-Old Ancient Village in Hechi! Staying in a Secluded Old House by the Wuyang River is So Healing

Discovered a "Little Lijiang" secret spot in Luocheng, Hechi — Yayi Ancient Village, a 200-year-old Mulao ethnic village hidden in the mountains and waters. The village inn, Village Language Village Stay Sanjiantang, perfectly combines rustic charm and comfort! 🌊

It’s just a 2-hour drive from Liuzhou and 3.5 hours from Nanning, with smooth cement roads all the way. As soon as you enter the ancient village, you’re struck by the Wuyang River, its clear waves flowing through the village. In the evening, the river breeze rustles bamboo leaves, and the world instantly quiets down. This tranquility truly rivals Guilin!

The “Zuo Ye” room we stayed in was amazing! A Daoguang-era old house renovated, with Mulao-style white walls and black tiles outside, but inside it’s my favorite wabi-sabi style — filled with original wood furniture and a faint woody aroma. The space is huge, equipped with smart toilets, Bluetooth speakers, mini fridge, and bathtub, perfectly blending modern convenience with old house charm. The biggest surprise was the window view! Lying in bed, you can see the green mountains and bamboo by the Wuyang River. Singing while soaking in the tub facing the river view, all bad moods just disappear~

The housekeeper was super thoughtful, and the coffee she made smelled amazing! We sat by the river soaking our feet in cool water, feeling pure happiness. The food was all local specialties: purple sticky rice wrapped in a bamboo tray, grilled intestines, pickled vegetables — so delicious you want to lick the plate. You can also book a flower boat dinner, cruising the Wuyang River while watching the sunset, chewing on tender meat and watching the evening glow dye the river — isn’t this the dream life?

The night was even better! We drove to the county town for a bowl of jam barbecue, then came back where the young guy mixed some drinks. Lying in the yard, the sky was full of stars. Chatting with friends, we found that relaxed countryside feeling from childhood. Nearby, you can also visit the Xiaochangan Ancient Town, enjoy a bowl of rice noodles and fresh river fish — so much to do~

If you’re tired of the city noise, don’t hesitate! Stay here for two days, enjoy the river view, live in an ancient house, eat delicious food, and fully relax!
