Who hasn’t visited Luoyang, the “Underground Museum”? I was left speechless!
Tired of the usual tourist spots in Luoyang? Then you must visit this underground tomb museum at least once!
The moment you step down the stairs, it feels like time slows down — this isn’t just an exhibition, it’s time travel!
✨ Immersive Exploration (Surprises at Every Turn)
Step onto the "Time Stairs"
Descend 10 meters down the stairs, and the temperature drops by 5°C (perfect for summer, but bring a jacket!). The cracks in the green bricks seem to hold stories from millennia ago, and even your footsteps echo with history.
See "Storytelling" Ancient Tombs
These 25 real ancient tombs aren’t just for display! From Western Zhou bronze ritual vessels to Tang Dynasty painted pottery figurines, even the "life scenes" on the tomb walls are incredibly vivid, depicting ancient people dining and brewing wine as if they were alive.
Catch a "Tomb Chamber Light Show"
At 10 AM and 3 PM sharp, the lights come on! Warm light gradually illuminates the murals, bringing the once-dull figures to life. You can even see the patterns on the folds of their clothes clearly — no photo editing needed!
Discover "Ancient Romantic Gestures"
From inscriptions in couple’s tombs reading "Together in life and death," to pottery figurines of musicians holding lutes, and even miniature grain storage models, ancient life was surprisingly charming and full of romance.
📝 Latest Tips (Tested and Proven)
Booking: Reserve a spot a day in advance via the "Luoyang Ancient Tomb Museum" WeChat account. Entry is timed, so it’s never crowded.
Must-See: The "Jingling Underground Palace" where you can touch a thousand-year-old stone coffin, and the "Mural Hall" featuring the incredibly detailed "Procession Scene."
Note: No signal in the underground palace! Flash photography causes glare, so use natural light for better photos.
Nearby: After your visit, head to the nearby Mangshan Park for a panoramic view of Luoyang City — it’s incredibly soothing.
Honestly, don’t just come for the peonies! Standing in front of these ancient tombs, you’ll truly feel the "touch of a thousand years." After my visit, I couldn’t resist posting 9 photos on my social media!
