Living in Yunnan for a year, I discovered a hidden ancient village about 1 hour from Mile

|| Villagers slowly walk past the village entrance driving water buffalo, and the winding creek flows quietly. This paradise-like ancient village brings peace to the body and mind. This is Chengzi Ancient Village in Luxi, known as the "Little Potala Palace of Yunnan," about 1 hour from Mile!

🚗 Route itinerary:
Day 1️⃣ Various places — Kunming (overnight)

Day 2️⃣—3️⃣ Kunming — Mile (overnight)
In the morning, drive 1.5 hours from Kunming to Mile. In Mile, you can visit Dongfeng Yun, Taiping Lake Forest Park, Dianxi River Wetland, Jinping Mountain, and Huquan Ecological Park (great for strolling, enjoying the breeze, and watching the sunset) 📢 Detailed Mile travel guide is available on the homepage notes.

Mile food:
① Yongshan Food, with huge portions, a local family-style small restaurant. My friend and I ordered three dishes and couldn’t finish them all. Great value for money;

② Zhuyuan Braised Chicken Rice Noodles: For the most authentic braised chicken rice noodles, it’s better to drive to Zhuyuan Town in Mile. You can pick any restaurant there and hardly go wrong;

Day 4️⃣ Mile — Chengzi Ancient Town in Luxi
Depart from Mile to Chengzi Ancient Town. Public transportation is inconvenient, so renting a car and driving is recommended. The drive takes about 1 hour. Chengzi Ancient Town 🎫 costs 20 RMB per person, parking fee is 10 RMB per vehicle.

Chengzi Ancient Village is about 50 minutes from Luxi County. It’s recommended to leave Mile early, visit Chengzi Ancient Town, then drive to Luxi County for accommodation. There are many hotel options with better value.

In the evening, you can go to Fortune Plaza to eat roasted potatoes and stroll along the brightly lit Jinhui Plaza to experience the lively atmosphere of this small town.

Day 5️⃣ Luxi — Alu Ancient Cave — Luxi Old Street

There aren’t many attractions in Luxi, but you can visit Alu Ancient Cave and Luxi Old Street. The snacks here are really delicious and affordable. You won’t be able to stop eating roasted potatoes, cold rice noodles, and braised chicken feet~

Luxi food:
