Exploring Luxor in Egypt was next-level epic! ๐
Sailed the Nile, wandered ancient temples, and literally floated above history in a hot air balloon. If you want to soak in the sights without melting, hit Luxor on a cloudy day โ the perfect hack against that blazing Egyptian sun. ๐
Must-See Places in Luxor:
1. Nile Cruise Luxor and Aswan (3 & 4 Nights)
Kick off your trip by staying on a Nile cruise docked at Kaild ibn alwalid. Itโs part floating hotel, part cultural experience, with daily stops at lesser-known historic spots between Luxor and Aswan.
2. Luxor Temple
You can't skip this: Luxor Temple (Luxor City, Luxor Governorate 1362501) is open year-round (6:00โ20:00) and is stunning, especially in the early morning or late evening when crowds are light and columns glow gold.
3. Hot Air Ballooning in Luxor
Rise SUPER early and catch a balloon over the Nile โ the sunrise views are unreal. Youโll see temples, farmlands, and the river from above (just remember: book ahead, and bring a light jacket).
Tips:
- Cloudy days = best photos, comfy exploring, and way less sunburn risk. Plan ahead and check local weather for a chill experience.
- Get around: Local taxis or arrange Nile cruise transfers โ easy and safe.
- Food: Try kushari or grilled lamb at a riverfront spot near the cruise dock for a taste of real Egyptian flavor.
