Explore the Buddhist wonderland of Fangshan in Luzhou, Sichuan.

Luzhou, a small city adjacent to Chongqing, is home to a Buddhist sanctuary called Fangshan. Standing by the river and shrouded in clouds and mist, it looks like a fairyland. Fangshan has a long history and has been a sacred place for literati since ancient times. It was known as "Hangu" in the Han Dynasty and was called "Little Zhongnan Mountain" in the Tang Dynasty.

On the top of the mountain, you can enjoy the tranquility of Dianchi Lake, the poetic beauty of Baoxiao Pavilion, and the magnificence of Bodao Ridge. The most anticipated attraction is the Black-Faced Guanyin in Zhongyunfeng Temple, which is mysterious and solemn. Here, you can take a cable car to the top of the mountain, visit Tianchi Lake and the sunrise viewing platform, and then overlook the panoramic view of Luzhou from Bodao Ridge. The whole journey takes only 2–3 hours.

Don't forget to try the farmhouse meals in the mountains and let your taste buds immerse in this fairyland. The ticket is only CNY 15, but please note that the parking lot is far from the foot of the mountain, so it is recommended to plan your trip in advance.
