Maldives-Maafushi

Maafushi Island seems to be the largest inhabited island besides Male, and the tourism industry is quite well developed. I visited it four years ago, before the pandemic was fully lifted. There weren't many Chinese tourists on the island, but many European and American tourists. This time, I was deeply shocked. Many places were already under construction with hotels. Away from the car-free island, it felt more commercial.
🍽️ The food is generally Indian-style and not expensive, but for Chinese people, eating curry all day might be a challenge. However, there are Chinese restaurants on the island, which are quite good. It's a great way to get Chinese food in a place with limited supplies, and the taste is also good. While it can't compare to China, it will satisfy Chinese appetites.
🌊 Compared to other islands and resorts, this one offers a wider variety of sea activities and is more cost-effective. Those with good English can chat and bargain at the stalls once they arrive. For those with poor English, there's the Bella Family summer trip, which has Chinese language options. I recommend experiencing the fish tank, nurse sharks, corals, and white sandbar. Sea hopping is also great, but those with good swimming skills will find it even more engaging. Water sports are also great, and the scenery from parasailing is completely different from the ground. Highly recommended!
💰 Regarding money, the Maldives accepts US dollars, but damaged, folded, and old notes are not accepted. For a better deal, you can exchange US dollars for local currency in Male. There are several shops near the Male Mosque with good exchange rates; you can check them out and exchange them for a 1,000 yuan note.
