A must-visit spot in Macau | Dom Pedro V Theatre🎭

My dears, today I must share with you the super charming Dom Pedro V Theatre in Macau!

It is the earliest Western-style theater in China🥳, and one of the earliest places in China to show movies. The main part was built in 1860, and later in 1873, colonnades, arcades and a neoclassical pediment were added to the front entrance.

Walking into the theater, the warm yellow tones of the first floor are very European, as if you can still see the lively scene of the theater when the seats were full, the stage was full of singing and dancing, and the audience was cheering 🎊. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and couldn’t stay for too long, and I didn’t get to go to the second floor. It was a real pity 😭.

The huge ancient banyan tree outside the theater is extremely shocking. Its thick trunk stands on the top of the hill, witnessing more than a hundred years of wind and rain. It has grown from a small banyan tree into its current lush and leafy appearance, protecting the theater for a long, long time🌳.
