Just spent an energetic, culture-packed day in Madrid and absolutely loving how walkable and artsy this Spanish capital is 🇪🇸✨ Here’s my speedy guide to experiencing the best of classic and modern Madrid — from world-class theaters to legendary eats!
Top Spots to Visit:
1. Cofidis Alcázar Theater 🎭
Address: C. Alcalá, 20, Centro, 28014 Madrid
The drama here is top-notch! Check out evening shows Tuesday-Thursday (from 5:30pm) or catch matinees and extra events Friday-Sunday (12pm-11:30pm). Pro tip: Grab tickets on weekdays for smaller crowds.
2. Nuevo Apolo Theatre 🌟
Address: Pl. de Tirso de Molina, 1, Centro, 28012 Madrid
Another legendary venue — perfect for catching musicals or comedy acts, and it’s in a vibrant neighborhood with cool bars nearby for a pre-show drink.
3. Casa Revuelta 🍽️
Address: Calle Latoneros 3, 28005 Madrid
Don’t miss out on their famous bacalao (fried cod)! This bustling local haunt serves classic Madrid flavors — arrive right as they open at noon to beat the local lunch crowd.
4. Lateral Santa Ana 🥗
Address: C. del Príncipe, 12, 28012 Madrid
A modern tapas spot in Plaza Santa Ana — perfect for late lunches and people-watching. Their outdoor seating lets you soak up the city buzz.
Getting in & Out:
Fly into Madrid Barajas Airport for direct and easy access. From there, hit the Metro for the fastest, cheapest ride to the city center.
My tips:
- Don’t stress about transport — the Madrid Metro is a breeze and drops you close to every major spot.
- Try to score theater tickets ahead of time, especially on weekends!
