📅 Mae Hia trip, 3 days, 2 nights

Day 1
In the morning, we picked up a small eco car rental (book online for around 600 baht per day) and drove up to Wat Phra That Doi Kham. 🛕 We made merit, paid respects to the Buddha, and lit incense and candles to pay homage to the chedi. Enjoy the view of Chiang Mai for free, with a cool breeze.
🍴 Breakfast: Pork congee + coffee at a small shop in front of the temple ~40 baht.
In the morning, head down to Royal Park Rajapruek. 🌸 Entrance fee for Thais is 40 baht. Walk around the garden and enjoy taking photos.
🍴 Lunch: Chicken Khao Soi at a local restaurant near Mae Hia ~50 baht.
In the evening, stroll through Mae Hia Market for inexpensive local food.
🍴 Dinner: Sai Ua (Northern Thai Sausage) + Sticky Rice + Herbal Drink ~60 baht.
🏨 Stay at Baan Phor Phan Hostel, a small hostel for 250–300 baht per night.



Day 2
Wake up early and head to the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden. 🌳 Walk the Skywalk for some fresh air.
🍴 Breakfast: Toast + roadside coffee ~30–40 baht.
In the morning, stop by No. 39 Café (just for a drink and a view).
🍴 Lunch: A single rice dish or noodles at a local restaurant. ~50 baht
Return to Mae Hia in the evening for rest.
🍴 Dinner: Made-to-order curry and rice ~40 baht



Day 3
Check out in the morning and drive to Ban Thawai. 🪵 Browse for souvenirs (optional)
🍴 Breakfast: Chicken rice from Mae Hia morning market ~35 baht
Continue to Huai Kaew Waterfall 🌊 Take photos
🍴 Lunch: Somtam + grilled chicken on the sidewalk ~60 baht
Return rental car in town
🍴 Dinner: Boat noodles, 20 baht per bowl



💸 Rough budget per person per day
• Eco car rental: 600 baht/day + gas 200 baht/day (divided by 2, approximately 400 baht/day)
• Accommodation: 250–300 baht/night
• Food: 150–200 baht/day

Total: 3 2 nights
If driving alone, ≈ 3,500–4,000 baht/person
If sharing a car with two people, ≈ 2,500–3,000 baht/person
