This place is called "Switzerland of Thailand" because there is a large lake surrounded by rows of pine trees. And in the morning, there will be fog floating above the surface of the water. 📍 Where is Pang Ung?

Located in Mueang District, Mae Hong Son Province, it is a royal initiative project that King Rama IX ordered to develop the area together with the villagers to restore the forest. This place is both peaceful, shady, and you can be close to nature in a real way.

🌄 Highlights of Pang Ung
• Wake up in the morning to see the fog floating above the lake with the sunlight reflecting off the water's surface.
• Take pictures with white swans and black swans swimming in the lake.
• Ride a bamboo raft in the middle of the lake to enjoy the beautiful morning light.

🏕️ Overnight stay
There are both house rentals and tent camping zones to choose from. (You can rent a tent or bring your own.) The tent pitching fee is about 100 baht/person. There are clean bathrooms and local shops.

🚗 Getting there
From Mae Hong Son city, it takes about 1.30 hours. The road is a bit winding, but the road is good. You can drive yourself or hire a songthaew from Pai.

📌 Some tips
• Come during the late rainy season, early winter (October–February) to see thick fog and the best view.
• Prepare a jacket because the temperature can drop to single digits in the morning.
• There may be little phone signal. It is a real break for your mind.
