Cruise and tea-sipping at Mae Suai Dam

Who would have thought that a mountain trip could include a boat ride? The scenery here is as stunning as any seaside view. This is Mae Suai Dam, located before the road leading up to Doi Chang. The dam offers floating rafts for water activities, but since we visited in January during the winter season, we opted for a scenic boat ride instead.

We booked a private boat service from 'Kod Camping' for 1,800 THB per boat. The wooden boat takes you on a tour of Mae Suai Dam, with the Mae Suai Cave visible in the background. There are two daily boat trips to choose from, and we picked the evening slot to enjoy the sunset. Tea and snacks are provided on board, and the boat is beautifully decorated for photo opportunities at the bow.
