"Wat Den Sali Si Mueang Kaen" or "Wat Ban Den" in Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, was once a small village temple. However, faith and devotion propelled this temple to the status of a valuable Lanna Buddhist art masterpiece. When Kruba Chao Thueng Nathasilo came to reside, a Bodhi tree began to appear, where there had never been one before. The Bodhi tree, locally known as "Ton Sali," is the origin of the name of Wat Den Sali Si Mueang Kaen. "Mueang Kaen" refers to the ancient city that once flourished within this area.
