2024 Maldives-Male Day Tour Guide

If you have limited time, the city of Male may not be worth your entire day. The city is small and you can visit the main attractions in a few hours on foot. It is a good choice to take a walk around while waiting for the plane. The following is my summary of Male's highlights, which basically covers all the places worth visiting. If there are any omissions, please add them in the comment area🙇🏻

Estimated time for playing: 4 - 6 hours

Pier Cafe: Located on the second floor of the pier, here you can see the China-Malaysia Bridge, the unbeatable sea view, and the scene of airplanes taking off and landing.
Sky Bridge Apartment: The only apartment on the island with a sky bridge, the unique architectural structure is worth a look.
Presidential Palace: Feel the local political center and appreciate its solemn atmosphere.
Independence Square: At noon, a large group of pigeons will gather here, creating a spectacular scene. However, be careful of bird droppings when watching.
Vegetable market: The pier behind the vegetable market is the highlight. The water there is crystal clear and there are many manta rays.
Fish Market: If you are lucky, you can see giant tuna here. I have seen it before, it is really amazing😬
White Mosque: A very distinctive building, the white exterior is particularly dazzling in the sun.
Sultan Park: Highly recommended! Don’t miss the moon swing in the park. Sitting on it feels like you are swinging into the moon.
Coffee Street: The street is dotted with coffee shops and various high-end luxury stores, full of literary and fashionable atmosphere.
Victory Monument: Carrying historical significance, it bears witness to the development of this city.
National Gallery of Art: I personally don’t recommend it, you can choose whether to go based on your interests.
National Museum: There is a complete whale shark skeleton in the museum. The scene is spectacular and worth seeing.
Yishu Park: There is a restaurant on the second floor of the park, where you can enjoy a beautiful sea view.
Jelly Sea: The water here is extremely clear, just like jelly. It is the place with the clearest water on the island.
Tsunami Memorial: Commemorate that painful history and remind people to cherish the present.
Sea swimming track: The swimming pool is integrated with the sea. Walking on the track is like embracing the sea intimately.
Street murals: The murals on the streets and alleys are full of artistic sense and show the local cultural characteristics.
Seawall Monument: Although it is a bit dirty here, the unique blue and white sea water is very unique and has a different kind of beauty.
China-Malaysia Friendship Bridge: Be sure to pay attention to safety when passing by, as I heard that things may fall occasionally.
Lo Nuzia Park: With beautiful scenery, it is a great place for a leisurely walk.
Blue Mosque: The iconic blue dome sparkles in the sunlight.
