Male, Maldives: The unique charm of a small island city

Male, the capital of Maldives, is a small island city full of vitality and unique charm. When you step into Male, the first thing that catches your eye is the white streets of fine coral sand. Vehicles passing by do not raise any dust, which has a unique charm. The unique architectural style here and the colorful houses are scattered around in an orderly manner, as if telling tourists about the history and culture of the Maldives.

In Male, transportation is very convenient, and it only takes 15 minutes to get there by ferry from the airport island. Wandering through the streets of Male, you can visit the historic Friday Mosque to experience the rich atmosphere of Islamic culture; you can also go to the Sultan Park to learn about the glorious history of the ancient Sultanate. The China-Maldives Friendship Bridge is a new landmark of the Maldives. Built with aid from China, it connects the capital Male, the airport island and Hulhumale. Walking on the bridge, admiring the blue sea and feeling the sea breeze on your face is a refreshing experience.

The local seafood dishes are fresh and delicious, especially the various tropical fish and shellfish, which are cooked in a variety of ways and are very memorable. In addition, you can also visit the local market and buy some special shell crafts as souvenirs. These crafts are made of shells unique to the Maldives and are very ingenious.

If you have plenty of time, you might as well stay in Male for a few more days to fully experience the unique charm of this small island city.
