Kumamoto Airport underwent a grand renovation in March 2023. The new terminal, which combines domestic and international flights, is a space filled with Kumamoto-esque elements, including locally sourced wood and a design featuring Kato Kiyomasa's family crest, the "snake eye." The airport also features an observation lobby, event space, Kumamoto-related businesses, and "Kumamon" decorations, helping you get into the Kumamoto spirit even before your trip begins.
