[Dogo Onsen] Enjoy the baths and shopping streets

When traveling to Matsuyama, Ehime, you can't miss Dogo Onsen♨️.
Said to be the oldest hot spring in Japan, its retro main building is the town's symbol. The Botchan Train runs in front of the station, and the cobblestone hot spring town is lined with footbaths and souvenir shops.

The baths in this main building are open to the public, so if you have the time, you can enjoy the traditional hot springs and the on-site rest area for a retro experience.

Plans that include a yukata include access to the rest area, and bath-only plans are also available, so choose the option that best suits your time and mood.

Snacks are also fun to try, with plenty of Ehime-inspired delicacies, like nori crackers with the hot spring logo, mandarin orange juice from the tap, and Dogo beer.

The best time to visit is early evening.
The main building, lit by paper lanterns and gas lamps, is a great place for photos.✨ If you're planning on stopping by the hot springs, aim for an early hour to minimize wait times.

There are stylish cafes and guest lounges nearby, where you can relax with a post-bath beer or shaved ice.
The best part of Dogo is strolling through the retro townscape, relaxing and enjoying the hot springs and gourmet food.
