Shiki Memorial Museum

Getting there: Shiki Memorial Museum is located in the north area of Dogo Park. There is a bus stop right in front the Musuem.

Highlights: The Shiki Memorial Museum displays information on one of Matsuyama's most well-known sons, Masaoka Shiki, who introduced modern haiku poetry. Shiki's works of poems and paintings, as well as materials documenting his life are presented.

Shiki is widely considered to be the most important figure in the modernization of both haiku and tanka poetry. Apart from wide range of exhibits related to Shiki, the museum also includes exhibits about the early history of Matsuyama.

Opening hours: 9am to 6pm daily, closed on Tuesday

Admission fee: 400yen
