🏛 Bogd Khaan Palace Museum
This museum was originally the winter palace of Bogd Khan, the last emperor of ancient Mongolia. It was built in the late 19th century and is one of the earliest existing royal buildings in Ulaanbaatar. It has now been converted into a museum and is open to the public.
The entire palace combines traditional Chinese wooden architecture with Tibetan Buddhist style. It is solemn and exquisite, and retains a strong historical and cultural atmosphere.
There are more than 8,600 cultural relics on display in the museum, including Bogda Khan's daily necessities, seats, bedding, ritual instruments, artworks, and his personal collection of animal specimens.
🎯 The treasure of the town: a yurt made of 170 snow leopard skins, magnificent, the only one in the world.
The entire visit takes about 1 hour, and you can feel the details of royal life and see a miniature of Mongolia's modern history.
Friends who like culture, architecture and religious art must not miss it.
Opposite the museum is the factory flagship store of the old cashmere brand Evseg, where you can buy local cashmere goods along the way
