We took the public bus to the Botanic Gardens.
In front of the park there is also a large parking lot available. The entrance fee of 300 MUR per person is absolutely fine. We had taken a map with us for free at the checkout and that was a good thing!
The signs at the entrance promise a lot. We, however, were disappointed by the park.
Although there are many different plants and the paths are well signposted with names, therefore the site plan. Otherwise, one would certainly not find one or the other so easy.
However, the park could be much more well maintained. That the gardeners aren't coming against the foliage, okay, but there are also huge palm fronds all around and I think they could be picked up sometime.
In addition, the labels on the plants / trees were partly no longer read and if we lacked information about these. Just putting a sign with the name of the plant and its Latin name is a little mawkish.
Bridges and railings were also partially in a desolate state. They've been locked down with tape.
Through the reviews here, we were fortunately 🍀 prepared for the fact that there are no opportunities to buy anything to drink or eat in the whole park. That’s why we had also brought drinks. If I find petite poor and also not thoughtful, this would certainly still benefit the park some money.
The enclosure for the deer is much, much too small and that of the turtles extremely loveless. You could also have incorporated feeding times, which would certainly have attracted visitors.
All in all, this Botanical Garden lacked the love for such a park, a pity
