Address: Medina, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Amberiye Mescidi, also known as the Hamidiye Mescidi, is a Sunni Islam Mosque built by the Ottoman Turks in Medina, which is nowadays part of Saudi Arabia it is named after the Anbariya Gate, next to which the mosque was located. The mosque was intended to serve as a spiritual refuge for Ottoman soldiers. Its proximity to the railway station made it convenient for both the traveling pilgrims and the Ottoman soldiers guarding the region to worship. Built during the last period of the Ottoman Empire's domination of the Holy Land, it served not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of the deep reverence the Ottoman had for Medina. The architecture of the mosque also reflects the sophistication of the Ottoman Empire. It is considered important as it is one of the architectural heritages of the Ottoman region. Highly recommended.
