🌿🏔️🍜🚌💃 Girls! Just back from Meixian in Shaanxi - this hidden gem at the foot of the Qinling Mountains is absolutely magical! In June, Meixian's mountains are emerald green, waters icy cool, and even the air carries the sweet fragrance of kiwifruit~ As the hometown of Zhang Zai, founder of Guan School, it blends cultural heritage with the natural oxygen bar of Taibai Mountain. After three days of intensive exploration, here's my ultimate guide!
【3-Day Itinerary】
🌅Day1: Conquer Taibai Mountain
6:30am head straight to Taibai Mountain National Forest Park (peak season ticket ¥150), take the first shuttle to Tianyuan Difang for sea of clouds (bring a down jacket! 15℃ colder at summit 🥶). The view from 3,511m is worth freezing for!
Lunch at Baixiantai Restaurant's sour-spicy noodles (¥28) with unlimited refills - eating with mountain views is heavenly~
Afternoon hike down passes Pomo Mountain's stunning natural ink-painting cliffs. Stay at Taibai Mountain Yijing Camp Hotel (local largest) with private hot springs under starry skies - ¥400+/person including breakfast!
🌊Day2: Honghe Valley Water Fun + Culture
9am at Honghe Valley (¥80, 30% off with Taibai ticket). Must-see: Doumu Waterfall! 80m cascade like inverted Milky Way - misty viewing platform is refreshing 💦 (wear non-slip shoes - mossy stones are treacherous 😭)
Lunch: wild vegetable salad and scrambled eggs with toon leaves at farm restaurants.
Free afternoon at Zhang Zai Temple! Wednesday mornings feature Hanfu guides explaining Confucian philosophy. The 900-year-old locust tree's hollow fits half a person - perfect photo op! Evening at Nongfu Spring factory (free tour by appointment) - drink freshly bottled water and marvel at futuristic production lines ✨
🏯Day3: Ancient Town Hot Springs
Morning leisure at Hengqu Ancient Town - try flaky walnut cakes (¥5). Lunch at "Liu's Razor Noodles" - paper-thin noodles soaked in sour-spicy broth with chili oil 👏
Afternoon at Tangyu Hot Spring Town - skip ¥198 baths! Free public foot soak (42℃) with local gossip is better than TV. Night skies here offer milky way photo ops 🌌
【Top 5 Must-Dos】
1️⃣Taibai Mountain sea of clouds: Free sunrise viewing before 6:30! Cable car round-trip ¥120 but worth it
2️⃣Honghe Valley's Doumu Waterfall: Shaanxi's #1 waterfall! Rainbows in mist, 40-min hike with wading spots
3️⃣Zhang Zai Temple: ¥25 (free Wednesdays). Rub ancient tree for academic luck - night lantern festivals at adjacent academy
4️⃣Tangyu Hot Spring Street: Free foot baths + ¥15 noodle shops - authentic local vibe
5️⃣Meixian Kiwi Farm: July-Sept picking season. Fresh juice now available - like drinking vitamin C bombs!
【Transport】
🚄Xi'an North→Meixian East HSR 28min (¥54), then ¥10 shuttle to Taibai
🚌Local bus: Line 1 to Zhang Zai Temple, Line 3 to Honghe Valley. Taxis under ¥20 anywhere
🚗Self-drive: Huo-Lian Expressway exit 5min to town. Taibai parking ¥20/day
【Pro Tips】
⚠️Taibai weather changes instantly! I froze in T-shirt - rent jackets (¥50) or bring your own
⚠️Honghe's mossy stones = natural dance floor. Water shoes recommended
⚠️Zhang Zai Temple closes 4pm - don't repeat my sad mistake
⚠️Restaurants default to medium spice - shout "wei la!" (mild) if needed
【Food Hits】
1️⃣Razor Noodles: Translucent sheets in sour-spicy broth - soul food!
2️⃣Wild Onion Tofu Pudding: Tender tofu with chili minced pork - bowl-licking good
3️⃣Steamed Pagoda Tree Flowers: Spring on a plate with chili oil
4️⃣Ruyi Dip Noodles: Intangible heritage! Chewy noodles with garlic broth
5️⃣Kiwifruit Juice: Freshly squeezed at ¥6/cup - beats bubble tea
💰Sample Costs (3D2N/person):
HSR round-trip ¥108 + lodging ¥400 + tickets ¥230 + food ¥150 + transport ¥50 ≈ ¥938
Meixian's hospitality blew me away! Locals walk you to destinations, aunties give free side dishes. No pretentious vibes - just Qinling's wind through wheat fields and forever-lit lanterns in hot spring streets 🏮 Come experience this underrated gem in June's perfect weather! 🌄🍃🌸🎋🌺
