【3 days 2 nights, about 4600 RMB per person! Meizhou Guide: The World Hakka Capital, the Hometown of Mountain Songs】
Day 1: Arrive at **Meixian Airport** (or take high-speed rail to Meizhou West Station, round-trip ticket about 2200 RMB), take a taxi to check in at a Hakka-style guesthouse (such as Yannanfei Tea Field Hotel, 800 RMB/night × 2 = 1600 RMB). In the afternoon, visit 【Qianfo Pagoda Temple】—an iron pagoda housing a thousand Buddha statues, full of Zen serenity. Stroll through 【Dongshan Academy】 and 【Zhuangyuan Bridge】 to feel the cultural heritage of the "Land of Culture." At night, enjoy the light show along both banks of the Mei River and check in at the Hakka Museum.
Day 2: Head to 【Yannanfei Tea Field Scenic Area】 (ticket 80 RMB)—terraced fields lush with greenery, tea fragrance refreshing the heart, experience tea picking and tea frying, and taste Hakka Lei Cha. In the afternoon, visit 【Qiaoxi Ancient Village】 (free)—century-old Hakka ancient houses built along the mountain, with picturesque misty covered bridges. At dusk, climb 【Ketiantian Tourism Industrial Park】 to see the night view of the Hakka town and watch the live performance "Song of the Hakka" (included in the ticket).
Day 3: Visit 【Dapu Tai'an Building】 (ticket 50 RMB)—a rare square Hakka walled building in China, with yellow earth and blue bricks telling the vicissitudes of time. Then visit 【Baihou Ancient Town】 to see the winding ancient alleys and Tongyi Dafu Mansion. Must-try lunch dishes: braised pork with preserved vegetables, salt-baked chicken, stuffed tofu, and San Ji Di soup. Before leaving, bring back souvenirs: Dapu honey pomelo, Pingyuan navel oranges, Hakka Niang wine, and Dancong tea.
💰Budget details:
Transportation 2200 (including air/train tickets + city taxis) + Accommodation 1600 + Meals 600 + Attractions about 200 ≈ **4600 RMB**
📌Tips:
- Meizhou has many mountain roads; bring motion sickness medicine if needed;
- Hakka cuisine tends to be salty, ask for less salt in advance;
- Autumn and winter are the best seasons for honey pomelo and navel oranges.
⚠️Warnings:
❌ "Free guided tours" at scenic spots are actually sales pitches for local products, politely decline;
❌ Tea sold directly by "old tea farmers" near tea fields may be hard to verify authenticity, it is recommended to choose reputable brands.
Three days and two nights, explore Meizhou. This is the spiritual hometown of Hakka people worldwide—every walled village and house holds nostalgia, every song and dish is full of affection. Stay in a tea garden mountain residence, explore thousand-year-old walled buildings, and listen to the most heartfelt Lingnan cultural echoes in the melodious mountain songs.
