[Italy] Milan Sforzesco Castle (Sforza Castle)

#SummerCampaign

Castel Sforzesco is a fortress built by the Visconti family, the ruling family of Milan. It was remodeled and expanded by Duke Sforza in 1450, and the Sforza family ruled Milan from the 15th to 16th centuries.
It has a long history, having been partially destroyed by Napoleon and restored in the 19th century.
It is now open to the public as the Civic Museum.

The tower directly in front of the entrance is called the "Tower of the Filete." A square corridor surrounds the tower, and inside is a courtyard.
Entering the building feels like traveling back in time.

Particularly famous are Michelangelo's Fourth Pietà and Leonardo da Vinci's important tempera paintings, the "Salle Asse."
