📍Honrakuji Temple

At Honrakuji Temple in Mima City, you can see a dry landscape garden that looks as if it is floating on the surface of the river, with the great Yoshino River in the background.

Since ancient times, temples and shrines have often been built away from rivers that are prone to flooding, but
Honrakuji Temple is located on a steep slope, right next to the Yoshino River.

This unique topography has created the miraculous sight of a dry landscape garden with the river in the background.

This is one of Shikoku's most spectacular views, and was selected as one of the "88 Scenic Views of Shikoku," a collection of breathtaking views from the four Shikoku prefectures.

The temple is worth seeing, including the beautifully maintained garden.
