Here's what makes Katsuo-ji special:
– On arrival, you get a paper sheet and set off on a "stamp chase" through the temple. There are 6 stations—collect all to reveal a full Daruma image (so fun for kids & Instagrammers)!
– Darumas are EVERYWHERE, from hidden forest corners to the wildest spots on the temple grounds. You can grab your own daruma at the shop and add yours to this bizarre collection—find the wackiest place you can!
– The temple sits in thick forested mountains, and the scenery here is breathtaking, especially on a sunny day. (Tip: hike behind the temple for gorgeous photo ops!)

Getting There:
Take Osaka Metro Red Line to the LAST station, then jump on the local bus (don’t worry about schedule—the buses run way more often than posted, every 10–15 mins). Expect crowds, especially weekends—go early if you want some quiet!
