Sendai Matsushima Trip

I took a day trip to Sendai and Matsushima.

In Sendai, I bought rice balls for breakfast at the morning market in front of the station, and visited the ruins of Sendai Castle in the city. The castle park with the statue of Date Masamune on horseback is a famous spot on a hilltop where you can get a panoramic view of Sendai city. As for sweets, I recommend trying the three-colored mochi at Murakamiya Mochiten.

It takes about 40 minutes to get to Matsushima on the Senseki Line. I got off at Matsushima Kaigan Station. After about an hour on a sightseeing boat, I strolled around the Fukuura Bridge area and had some jumbo oysters. I recommend the seafood restaurant Nihachiya.
