Matsushima Sightseeing

Matsushima is about a 30-minute drive from Sendai and is one of Japan's top three scenic spots. It's a popular tourist destination that can be easily visited on a day trip from Sendai, with various access methods available for enjoying the sights!

Traveling to Matsushima by train is recommended! Trains depart from Sendai Station and provide easy access to Matsushima. However, the arrival station differs depending on the line: the Senseki Line arrives at Matsushima-Kaigan Station, while the Tohoku Main Line arrives at Matsushima Station.

Matsushima Station is not directly in the tourist area, so further travel is required from there. Although the train ride is shorter compared to the Senseki Line, the total travel time may be longer, so please be aware of this.
