Miyakojima, where you can't swim

1. Accommodation: Rising Sun Hotel
@Pros: Close to MaxValue 24-hour store, right across the street.
I buy lunch boxes from Hotomoto every morning and eat them while traveling.
There's a nearby Oman Hospital and pharmacy. If you're sick, treatment is easy.
@Cons: Only studio apartments. The sea view is poor, and you have to stand on the 4th floor and tiptoe to see.
@One-liner: 100% practical, but 0% on Instagram.

2. Rental car: Compact SUV for 2 people.
We bring our luggage. We've remodeled. We normally have to pay for car washes if they get dirty, but we don't. We cover the driver's and passenger's seats with two body towels (we leave the sand at the hotel). We fold down the back seat and put our luggage in it. I've seen other people use 100-liter plastic trash bags.

3. Ocean: Most of the East Sea is clear, and there are tons of turtles. The water is clear from dawn until before lunch. After that, people start to crowd around, making visibility poor. I recommend going early in the morning and taking a nap after lunch.

4. Izakaya: All require reservations.
