Ine Town, a beautiful fishing village facing the Sea of Japan in northern Kyoto Prefecture, has a unique landscape that has been called the Venice of Japan. These are the approximately 230 boat houses built facing the sea. The first floor is a garage for boats, and the second floor is a residence, making it seem as if you are living with the sea.
A pleasure boat experience is a must!
If you want to enjoy this spectacular view from the sea, we recommend a pleasure boat.
• On a large pleasure boat (1,200 yen), many seagulls will approach you. If you prepare food (such as shrimp crackers) in advance, you can feed them directly from your hand, which is sure to excite both children and adults! It also makes for great photos.
• There are also small private boats (1,000 yen)**, but they are a bit rocky, so people who tend to get seasick should be careful.
Enjoy a spectacular sweet treat at "INE CAFE"
A popular café overlooking Ine Bay, **"INE CAFE**, is also a must-visit spot.
You can spend a relaxing time while watching the boathouses floating on the sea.
All the sweets are delicious, especially the seasonal menu using local ingredients!
Points to note when accessing
Be careful of parking fees. Parking fees are high in the Ine area, so it is recommended to use public transportation such as buses. The key to enjoying the charm of Ine to the fullest is to take your time and travel leisurely.
Don't miss Amanohashidate!
If you come to Ine, be sure to stop by Amanohashidate. This spectacular spot has been selected as one of the Three Most Scenic Spots of Japan, and the sandbar that looks like a bridge to the sky is truly spectacular! It is easily accessible from Ine, and will make your travel memories even more enriching.
