Mediterranean Vibes in the Heart of Moscow: Sunset Views at Gorky Park

My introduction to Gorky Park began in the summer, and it felt like a breath of fresh air in the bustling city. I visited on a weekend and was amazed by the variety of activities: people roller-skating, exercising, lounging on the grass with books. The park looks modern and well-maintained. The central alley leads directly to the Moscow River embankment, where you can relax on a deck chair and enjoy the view of the water. It's a perfect spot to unwind after exploring museums and busy streets.
I highly recommend visiting 'Muzon'—a zone where musical evenings and dance masterclasses take place. Another gem I discovered is Pushkinskaya Embankment, which is especially stunning at sunset when the water reflects the city lights. The park offers a range of cafes—from coffee shops to restaurants serving healthy food—so you won't go hungry. I brought a blanket and had a mini picnic right on the lawn, which is allowed.
On the practical side, the park is conveniently accessible by metro (stations 'Park Kultury' or 'Oktyabrskaya'), and there are plenty of signs in both Russian and English inside. In summer, make sure to bring sunscreen and water—the park is vast, and your walk might take longer than expected. I would recommend Gorky Park to anyone looking for a place in Moscow for active recreation and inspiration. It's a space where you feel like part of the city, not just a tourist.
