We went with a tour where you first watch the sunrise from the mountain, and afterwards you visit the vulcano itself. Visiting the sunrise was extremely crowded. My goodness, we didn't expect it to be this bad. So many jeeps and scooters on a tiny road, we have to cover our faces to not constantly get the exhaust fumes in our lungs. I must say, I do understand why it's so crowded, because the view with the sunrise is amazing, it looks like a painting. However, go there any other time of the day and you will be there alone. It is impressive to see the active volcanoes in the area. Visiting the crater is also a very special experience, never saw something like that up close. You can see, hear and feel the volcanic activity at the top. One other thing we didn't like were the poor horses bringing tourists to the crater. Don't understand me wrong, I love horses, I'm an equestrian myself. But these horses were just stressed, mostly in pain and I don't understand if you're a tourist (mostly too big and too heavy for the small horses) you go sit on these poor things. Just walk, come on, it's not that big of a deal, and if you physically cannot do it, just don't go.
