Catching Mt Fuji: My Lucky First View

First time touching down in Japan and wow—catching my first real-life glimpse of Mt Fuji was next-level special! This iconic mountain looked way bigger and more epic than any pic I’d scrolled through online. The vibes were unreal. 🗻✨

Right after landing in Tokyo, we jumped in our ride and headed straight for Fujikawaguchiko. The anticipation was SO real. About 30 minutes before arriving, Mt Fuji *already* popped into view from the car window. Talk about a sneak preview! We seriously lucked out—the sky was all clear and sunny that afternoon. Mt Fuji looked legendary, just glowing against the autumn sunset!

Fun fact: Mt Fuji’s only fully visible around 80-100 days a year. The next morning, after Subuh prayer, we take an early stroll before breakfast. And Fuji was still serving looks, totally clear and majestic in the sunrise. Such a magical moment!

But... plot twist: when we went exploring Gotemba Outlet Mall & Hakone, Mt Fuji pulled a disappearing act, hiding behind some clouds and fog. By day 3, as we drove to Kyoto, it was gone—masked by thick clouds.

Honestly, getting to see Mt Fuji so clearly—even for a couple of days—was an unforgettable slice of luck. If you’re planning a trip, cross those fingers for sunny skies! Catching that view IRL? Absolutely priceless.
