Putuo Mountain is located on Zhoushan Island, off the east coast of Ningbo City in Zhejiang Province, China. It covers an area of 12.5 square kilometers, with its highest point being Baihua Peak at 291 meters. It has been a sacred site for Guanyin worship since the Tang Dynasty. The name originates from the Indian Potalaka. The island is home to numerous temples such as Puji Temple, Fayu Temple, Pantuo Nunnery, and Lingzhi Nunnery, as well as scenic spots like Qianbusha, Chaoyin Cave, and Fanyin Cave. Japan's Nachi Mountain and Nikko Mountain are said to be sacred sites modeled after this Guanyin worship. Being an island, visitors can also enjoy coastal scenery and seafood cuisine.
