Stalls are lined up right next to the tracks, and when the train passes, they fold up their tents and tourists move to the very edge of the train.

When the train passes by, there are many people sticking their hands out of the windows, and they high-five, wave, and take pictures as they pass each other.

You can also interact with locals and other tourists, which is heartwarming♡

★Access

About 2 hours by car from Bangkok

I recommend using Grab or chartering.

It's also a good idea to go on a tour that includes the nearby floating market!

There seems to be a way to get there by train, but

I think it's for advanced people...

①Take the train from Wongwian Yai Station to Mahachai Station. Cross the river by boat and transfer to the Maeklong line.

② Take the [BKK-Amphawa-Damnoen Saduak] bus from the Southern Bus Terminal and get off at Maeklong, then walk for a short distance.

If you buy souvenirs in bulk just before the train arrives, the store may let you stand in a prime spot where you can see the train! I was allowed to stand on a slightly elevated platform in the store, like a stepladder. It depends on the store, so try it with 30% of your expectations 😂
