Enter the temple, intent on paying homage to the Reclining Buddha.
The large and imposing statue is a dazzling golden color,
for good fortune. Inside the Reclining Buddha Vihara,
and surrounding the reclining Buddha are beautiful Buddha images
and shrines displaying Thai royal figures and a wide variety of antique collectibles.
From porcelain and pottery,
to ancient photographs and banknotes from various eras, the sight is endless.
We then proceed to the second stop, exiting the Reclining Buddha Vihara, just before the left exit. The large, bright red sign reads, "King Rama V Monument Palace." The palace has two floors. The ground floor welcomes you, clean and beautifully decorated with pink carpets and roses. It houses a collection of information on His Majesty's life, including the "Pak" cookbook, an ancient Thai cookbook. The entrance is adorned with a white, pointed archway and a miniature European-style dome. Upon entering, we paid our respects to King Rama V, seated in his stately pose, adorned with a pair of ivory tusks, and prayed for positive energy and peace of mind.
Finally, we filled our bellies at the "Must-See Market." Strolling through the pleasant atmosphere, we found a wide variety of delicious food, including savory and sweet treats, snacks, drinks, local specialties, and souvenirs. Enjoy the freshness of the vendors, each dressed in their own unique traditional attire. They all wore vibrant colors, reflecting their unique attire, and they smiled warmly and were friendly. The prices were great, making it easy to buy quality goods. They provided shady seating areas, so you could enjoy a refreshing temple experience with your purchases. You'll be satisfied and smiling with satisfaction.
