Marienplatz: The heart of Munich

Marienplatz (square) has been at the centre of the city since Munich was founded by Henry the Lion in 1158. It was the point at which all of the new city's most important streets met and for centuries it was the centre of Munich's life. The main attraction is the double glockenspiel which is a must see. The Glockenspiel is the clocktower of this building. The clock show goes on at 11:00, 12:00 and 17:00. Beautiful building and so huge. It's difficult to get the entire building in one photo.
Definitely worth a stroll past to view it.
