Oman 🇴🇲, a country preserving the rich heritage of traditional Arabian culture.
A 2-day, 1-night trip to the capital city, Muscat.
📍 Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
The largest mosque in Oman, showcasing stunning decorations and magnificent architecture. You can marvel at the grandeur of Islamic design and craftsmanship here. Visitors can enter the mosque, but note that the rooms are separated by gender. Only the men's section offers a view of the dome.
📍 Mutrah Souq
A bustling market filled with Omani handicrafts, traditional clothing, and souvenirs. You can also find the famous frankincense at affordable prices.
📍 Fish Market
Discover a variety of unique fish and even sharks, typical of the Arabian Peninsula. The market operates from early morning until noon, so visiting early is recommended. Nearby, you'll find delicious seafood restaurants 🐟️🍽️.
📍 Old Muscat Drive
My personal recommendation is a drive through Muscat city 🚗. Oman, known as a Gulf oil-producing country, features a city surrounded by rocky mountains that you won't see in Japan. The scenery feels like something straight out of Star Wars ⛰️. Just driving through this striking landscape is an otherworldly experience that will keep your excitement alive.
I asked the hostel owner to take me on a sightseeing drive, but you can also opt for a tour or rent a car.
Oman, still somewhat overshadowed by Dubai, is a hidden gem of the Arabian Peninsula 🕌. Perfect for a short trip!
