A 2-night, 3-day itinerary to explore Myanmar
Day 1: Start in Yangon by visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda, then travel to Bagan by bus, train, or plane.
Day 2: Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Bagan by chartered taxi, rental motorbike, or bicycle. Don't forget to enjoy the sunset.
Day 3: Wake up early to witness the sunrise. Visit the magnificent golden cylindrical Shwezigon Pagoda located in the suburbs, then return to Yangon by plane.
Bagan is one of the world's three major Buddhist archaeological sites, alongside Cambodia's Angkor Wat and Indonesia's Borobudur.
While climbing temple structures to view the sunrise and sunset was previously allowed, it is now prohibited. Consider taking a balloon tour or visiting the Bagan Tower for stunning views.
