A Catholic church in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture ✨
Completed in 1864 after the country was opened to the world at the end of the Edo period 😊

It is the oldest Christian building still standing in Japan ✨
The official name is the Cathedral of the 26 Martyrs of Japan
As the name suggests, it is a church dedicated to the 26 Japanese saints, and is built facing Nishizaka, Nagasaki City, where they were martyred

It is designated as a World Heritage Site and a National Treasure ☺️

Photography is prohibited inside, so I couldn't take any pictures, but the stained glass was very beautiful ✨
There are souvenir shops and Glover Garden nearby, so you can enjoy a stroll 😊
