It's been a while since I last visited Nagasaki! !!
I stopped off at various places, including the Goto Islands, Dozaki on Fukue Island, Mizunoura, and Kusuhara Church.
I ate so many delicious things, including sara udon noodles, champon noodles, and fish from the Genkai Sea, and my stomach was completely satisfied! 😋
And of course, the last thing you buy at the end of a trip is souvenirs! !!
When it comes to Nagasaki souvenirs, it's "Nagasaki Castella"! 💕
After comparing the best castella cakes from various shops, I've decided on these two recommendations.
❶ Fukusaya
Fukusaya is famous for its one-person production method, where a single craftsman is responsible for everything from cracking the eggs to baking the castella.
They don't even use a mixer, and they're committed to making their castella cakes by hand, so they're fluffy and moist, with a subtle, refined sweetness that goes perfectly with the sugar added underneath.
❷ Bunmeido
They're famous for their commercial, "Castella number one, phone number two, and Bunmeido for your 3 o'clock snack."
Their castella cakes are baked using carefully selected ingredients, including "Nanban eggs" developed with contracted farms and glutinous rice syrup, resulting in an exquisite balance of egg aroma and sugar sweetness.
Please let us know your favorite castella cakes! 😁
