Oura Cathedral is officially called the Cathedral of the 26 Martyrs of Japan and is the oldest Christian building still standing in Japan.

This church was dedicated to the 26 Japanese saints who were crucified by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and was built for foreign residents when Japan opened up its borders.
