Nagoya Nagoya Sightseeing Have you tried any rare Nagoya souvenirs yet?

Nagoya, Nagoya Sightseeing

There are so many delicious souvenirs in Nagoya.

Shiruko sandwiches, Uiro, Ogura Toast Langue de Chat, and more.

I'm sure you're all familiar with these, but...

A bit unusual?

I discovered some souvenirs, so I'd like to share them with you.

✅ Akafuku White Mochi and Black Mochi
✅ Oguchiya's Signature Confection: Anpu Sankira

These two are

exquisite treats with textures you've never experienced before.

White Mochi and Black Mochi
⇒White mochi has the purity of white azuki bean paste.
Black mochi has a simple brown sugar flavor.
It was a delicious mochi with the distinctive texture of brown sugar.

Anfu Sankira
⇒This is a long-awaited souvenir. Since it doesn't keep well, I finally managed to buy it as a souvenir on the morning I returned home.
This product is made by wrapping smooth bean paste in namafu (wheat gluten) and then wrapping it again in salted yamakirai (also known as sartoriibara) leaves.
The saltiness adds a nice accent,
giving it a deep flavor.
Since smooth bean paste is usually wrapped in mochi, this product completely shatters any preconceived notions.

It's delicious!

What did you think? If you haven't tried it yet, please give it a try!
If you're visiting Nagoya, be sure to get some.

You can get it at the kiosk at the Taiko-dori Exit of Nagoya Station.
