Nagoya castle is a landmark of the city and it has to be at the top of your list if you plan to visit the city. It has been painstakingly restored after it was damaged during WW2 Air raids and is a testament to the fascinating history and culture of Japan
The castle itself is set inside huge grounds that offer a nice break from the urban sprawl of Nagoya, itβs nice and peaceful and there are plenty of areas to walk around.
Entrance fee is very cheap, around Β£3 / Β₯500 and worth the price. You can enter the Hommaru palace and do the walking tour through the intricately decorated room. The ornate paintings are honestly stunning, with each room featuring different plants and animals.
I got the metro to NagoyaJo station and followed the signs, about a ten minute walk. The castle is open 9:00-4:30 with last entry at 4PM
