Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya - The Lounge

Champagne Journey (Unlimited Champagne Afternoon Tea)

I visited this place for afternoon tea in 2023. It is located about 15 minutes from Nagoya Station and 10 minutes from Fushimi Station. The venue offers afternoon tea during the day and high tea in the evening, with an additional Champagne Journey option.

Reservations for Champagne Journey are available in 30-minute intervals from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the same time slot as high tea. The main difference between high tea and Champagne Journey lies in the menu composition. High tea offers a wider variety of items, including sweets, while Champagne Journey has a more limited selection of six items compared to the 14 items in high tea.

Both options include unlimited wine. Around 10 types of wine are available at Corner A, while Corner B features Veuve Clicquot champagne. Veuve Clicquot is served exclusively in its designated glasses and is only available to tables reserved for Champagne Journey.

High tea guests can access only Corner A, while Champagne Journey guests can freely use both Corner A and Corner B. The unlimited service lasts for 90 minutes, with the last order taken 70 minutes before the end. I made a reservation for the Champagne Plan at 8:00 PM. The hotel is just a 30-second walk across a pedestrian crossing. šŸ˜Ž

The service operates like a lounge, where guests pour their own drinks. I focused solely on Veuve Clicquot champagne. With the last order at 70 minutes, I planned to have one glass every 10 minutes, aiming for a total of eight glasses. The first glass was a sweet champagne.

Shortly after, a plate of six appetizers appeared, referred to as the "appetizer plate." All items were cold dishes, including shrimp, octopus, and squid stir-fry; roast beef; grilled lamb intestines; potato salad; aged sashimi; and mixed nuts. Each item was generously portioned, with three to four pieces per serving, making it perfect since I hadn’t had dinner beforehand.

As planned, I continued enjoying one glass of champagne every 10 minutes. The menu items were delicious and diverse, leaving me very satisfied.

Note that other alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, coffee, and tea are not included and must be ordered separately if desired. A bottle of Veuve Clicquot costs 14,500 yen, but with self-service pouring, I managed to consume about two bottles, equivalent to eight glasses. Definitely worth it. Thank you!
