About an hour from Naha Airport.
I visited Yachimun no Sato on Okinawa's main island, a must-visit place for pottery enthusiasts!
Yachimun no Sato is a quiet place surrounded by lush nature, with various rare flowers in bloom. The area is dotted with potters' workshops and galleries, giving it the feel of a small village.
In each workshop, craftsmen create Yachimun using their unique techniques. If you're lucky, you can even watch them at work.
The galleries feature a wide range of Yachimun, from traditional designs to modern pieces. Each item is one-of-a-kind, and you can feel the individuality of each artist in their work. The vibrant indigo colors were particularly impressive.
