Located just a 5-minute walk in the opposite direction from Makishi Monorail Station, Kokusai Dori Yatai Mura is a bustling food village filled with various eateries such as skewer sushi, izakaya, ramen, and more. This vibrant spot attracts both locals and tourists, creating a lively atmosphere. While the prices here are slightly higher, the experience is worth it. For instance, we ordered skewered dishes, beer, and other delicacies during our visit.
Kokusai Dori Yatai Mura is a place where everyone can exchange cultures with locals while enjoying dishes made from Okinawan ingredients. Since the opening of Kokusai Street in Naha City, this area has become a gathering spot for people, whether on weekdays or holidays. The village boasts 20 unique food stalls offering a variety of dishes, including seafood, sushi, oden, and traditional Okinawan cuisine. The wide selection of food is one of the main attractions here.
Many stalls open from late morning (depending on the shop), making it a great spot for lunch with family or drinks later in the day. Interestingly, Yatai Mura is inspired by Okinawa's old town, giving visitors a nostalgic feel as if they've traveled back in time. The charming atmosphere, combined with the cheerful voices of shop staff, makes strolling through the area enjoyable. Before you know it, you might find yourself sitting down and savoring a meal at one of the stalls.
