Enjoy a few days of slow living in the Jelly Sea Village.
📍Okinawa
Here’s a four-day, three-night travel guide for you:
day1️⃣✈️ 1.5h ➡️ Okinawa
Arrive in Okinawa around noon and head to Naha city center.
In the afternoon, take a stroll along Kokusai Street in the city center.
Seafood lovers should check out the Makishi Public Market 🐟— it’s affordable and delicious.
(Note: The market starts closing around 5 PM.)
day2️⃣ Island hopping 🚢 Naha ➡️ Tokashiki Island
Depart from Naha Port at 9 AM for Tokashiki Island (🕐 40 minutes).
The island offers various water activities and stunningly blue waters.
There are many small beaches for snorkeling, island exploring, and swimming.
Snorkeling shops on the island can take you out for a snorkeling tour 🤿.
There’s also an observation deck on the mountain, which takes about an hour round trip and is great for hiking.
📒 Tips: Be sure to book the fast ferry in advance. You’ll need your reservation number to pick up tickets on-site. Without a reservation, fast ferry tickets may not be available, and the slower ferry takes over an hour.
day3️⃣ Tokashiki Island ➡️ Naha
Return to Naha in the morning and visit American Village in the afternoon.
Don’t miss the sunset at American Village—it’s incredibly atmospheric.
The entire village has a Hawaiian vibe, with hidden Pokémon-themed spots and a variety of American and Korean cuisine.
On Saturday nights, there are fireworks at American Village, so be sure to catch them.
Recommended restaurant: Hokai Sushi Conveyor Belt Sushi.
day4️⃣ ✈️ Heading home
Spend the morning shopping for souvenirs before heading to the airport.
There’s a famous ramen shop in Naha city center that serves beef bone ramen—it’s worth a try if you have time.
🦈 Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
For those who prefer not to go island hopping, you can visit the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium instead.
Check out the giant whale shark featured in Crayon Shin-chan.
The aquarium is quite far from Naha city center, taking about three hours to reach, so plan your time accordingly.
🏝️ Overall, Okinawa is a super relaxing destination.
Restaurants, public transportation, and service industries tend to close early, making it perfect for slow living and casual exploring.
