This time in Okinawa, I had the incredibly unique Ichikihi Marshmallow Sukiyaki, which left a truly memorable impression! Upon arrival, the sukiyaki pot was covered in a large mass of white marshmallows, creating a dreamy look. As the heat gradually increased, the marshmallows slowly melted, transforming into a sweet broth that blended beautifully with the savory flavors of the sukiyaki, creating a surprisingly harmonious flavor.

When the meat slices were dipped in, they absorbed the sweet and savory broth, creating a unique and complex flavor profile without being overly greasy. The vegetables and tofu also had a subtle sweetness to them, creating a completely different experience from traditional sukiyaki.
